Saudi Metalsmith Community

Saudi Metalsmith Community is a pioneering local and cultural initiative—the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—aimed at uniting and developing male and female metalsmiths and jewelry designers. The idea was sparked by jewelers Ayat Dhahi and Revan Abdulsabour, inspired by their participation in international exhibitions and their desire to bring this enriching, collaborative experience back to their homeland.

Today, the community brings together more than 100 Saudi metalsmiths from various regions across the Kingdom, representing all levels of expertise.

Our Vision & Purpose

This community was established to create enhanced development opportunities for national craft talent, transforming metalsmithing and jewelry making from an isolated individual practice into a vibrant community culture and an inspiring collective force. Through this initiative, we strive to:

• Empowerment & Professional Development: Host metalsmithing challenges, training workshops, and collaborative meetups to transfer knowledge and expand technical and crafting horizons.

• A Unified Resource Hub: Build a reliable database and reference platform for metalsmiths and enthusiasts seeking tools and techniques in the Kingdom.

• Raising Standards & Quality: Elevate the value of Saudi handmade craftsmanship and reintroduce the trade within a contemporary cultural framework that bridges fine art and technical mastery.

• Local & International Representation: Highlight Saudi talent, share their journeys, and facilitate their participation in local and global platforms—such as participating in Romanian Jewelry Week.

• Jewelry Making: One-of-a-kind and fine jewelry pieces, rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.

• Precision Metalwork: Decorative pieces, hollowware, traditional coffee pots (Dallah), teapots, and metal boxes.

• Wearable Accessories: Keychains, prayer beads (Misbaha), and structural handbags.

• Administrative & Organizational Skills: Talent management, workshop and program design, alongside marketing and communications.

Our Symbolism & Values

Our logo is inspired by the Bench Pin—the most fundamental and essential tool used by every metalsmith. Its circular, centered repetition symbolizes the gathering and unity of metalsmiths as one cohesive team. The visual identity draws directly from the authentic tones of raw metals: Gold, Silver, Copper, Steel, and Iron.
